The RDX is an incredibly affordable luxury crossover. It is much better than all its European rivals and for the money, it is really very well equipped. The car is actually based on the CR-V and it was released in 2012. Now that its donor model has been completely revised, it’s turn. The 2017 model will be the last year of this generation that will be replaced by the 2018 Acura RDX. Like the CR-V, the car will more than likely be based on Honda’s new modular global car platform that debuted on the Civic.
From spy shots, it is obvious that the next version of Acura RDX will have a larger dimension than the existing model. There are changes in the spotlights, the grid and the bumper, even if the changes are not drastic. There are tail lights mounted on top and two exhaust pipes on the rear bumper. Little is known about the changes that will be made in its cabin, but the RDX 2018 will come with improved upholstery materials and fittings. Seats and cargo space will also be improved. It does not come with toppings, but you have the option of choosing different packages like Advance, Technology and AcuraWatch Plus.
Like any average mid-sized crossover, 2018 Acura RDX should be packed with enough safety features and conveniences. All models are equipped with a non-return camera, cruise control, automatic LED beacon, anti-privacy glass, sunroof, keyless starter, automatic climate control, artificial leather upholstery, automatic anti-dazzle mirror, leather-wrapped steering wheel. There is a sound system and Bluetooth with satellite radio.
Acura bucks the trend to 4-cylinder turbocharger by installing a 3.5-liter V-6 with natural aspiration to all RDX. With 276 horsepower and 252 pounds of torque, the V-6 is not flabby and it returns fuel-saving figures that are not far from the less powerful turbo-4s. Front wheel drive is standard and all drive wheels are $ 1,500 extra for those who need more grip.
The 2018 Acura RDX price can start at $ 36,500. It will be unveiled at the end of 2017.
