GM has several SUV models that are enjoying good sales around the world and the 2018 Chevy Tahoe is among them. The Tahoe is part of these large SUVs that have truck origins and are mainly observed by people from medium to large sized families. It is also known for its towing capacity. However, in the refined features and technology, it is a bit late. For 2018, Tahoe gets a reorganization. It will lock horns with rivals like Ford Expedition and Toyota Sequoia.
Expect updates to the front and rear façades and a grid and restyled headlamps. Some new color choices are also possible, as are the cool wheel designs in the 18, 20 and 22 inch diameters, depending on the level of finish. Regarding what 2018 Chevy Tahoe calls a street performance look, the RST versions will have a black-black grid with a color-body circle; black glossy mirror caps, black roof rails, window fittings, badges. and Chevy bowties. The RST also includes exclusive 22-inch wheels.
Changes from the inside of all models can include a new steering wheel, as well as the latest version of the intuitive MyLink infotainment system from Chevrolet with support for Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto. The driver, front passenger and occupants of the second row will still enjoy plenty of room on the cushion seats. Depending on the level of finish, you should be able to choose between two buckets or a three-seater bench in the first and second rows.
All models 2018 Chevy Tahoe will continue with a split / folding third-row bench, but if you want a semblance of adult accommodations, you’ll have to look again at the Suburban, with its longer wheelbase. Even then, the room and comfort of the third row will probably remain at the back of the pack. The culprit is GM’s use of a solid axle rear suspension rather than a more sophisticated independent suspension in Armada, Expedition and Sequoia. GM’s larger configuration requires a higher rear floor, causing third-row passengers to ride on their knees and, in the Tahoe, leaves little room under the second row seats. The volume of the third row folded is generous in both Tahoe and Suburban, but only in the latter is abundant with the third row occupied. Finally, if you are interested in the suburbs, go through your home on the test to make sure it goes into your garage.
The large engine is 6.2 liters (420 horsepower, 460 lb-ft of torque), a long option from Suburban, but previously unavailable in the Tahoe. The Performance package also includes GM’s new 10-speed automatic transmission. With its wide range of gears, the new transmission will keep the engine in its strongest operational point for longer and optimize performance when the driver rolls the accelerator. In the Tahoe, about 300 pounds lighter than the larger Suburban, the metal pedal will produce from 0 to 60 strokes in the high range of 5 seconds, according to Chevrolet.
GM has not yet declared the price of Chevy Tahoe 2018. But the expected base price is expected to be close to $ 51,500. The top price can be close to $ 74,000. It will be unveiled at the end of 2017.
