Citroën unveiled the new 2018 Citroen C4 before the car officially goes on sale next year. Immediately though, you will notice that a key feature of the previous generation has been dropped on the new car.
At the front of the car has also changed drastically making the car look like the new C3 sedan. Whether you’re a fan of the old Cactus looks or not, the air bumps definitely give the car a unique look, while it’s hard to tell apart from the rest of the range. Also, these bumps have formed a very useful function, preventing the car from being scratched in the car parks. This is the first update of the design of the car for three years and at that time, Citroën has experimented with more daring and more expressive design elements.
The interior of the car is quite minimalist and refined. The dashboard is uncluttered with just a touchscreen infotainment system now compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – and a number of sundials sitting in the middle of the car.
The Citroën C4 will abandon its old naturally aspirated engines. Instead, it should receive all new powertrains. A 1.2-liter turbo-three base of about 100 horsepower will be the norm. A more powerful version of the same engine will certainly be available. A larger 1.6-liter turbo with something of 125 and up to over 200 horsepower is also a real possibility. In fact, this generation of the V4 model offers north 260 horsepower. This would make the Citroën the most powerful in a moment and this would allow the French manufacturer to become competitive again. All cars will use a standard 6-speed manual while a 6-speed automatic will be an option on some engines.
