The Geneva International Motor Show 2017 was the scene of the unveiling of the new generation Hyundai i30 Tourer. The new member of the 2018 Hyundai I30 Tourer family maintains the timeless design of his five-door brother, adding elegance and versatility to his body style.
The break version of the i30 is 245mm longer than the sedan, but it shares the same wheelbase, so all the extra length is given to the boot. It gets Hyundai’s latest grille and tapered roofline, while LED headlights and LED daytime running lights add a flair to the design. The sleek design of the Hyundai i30 Tourer does not compromise the starting space: with 602 liters of space (VDA 211) and 1650 liters (VDA 214) with the seats folded down, it has one of the largest boots in the segment . Versatility is further enhanced by additional storage space under the floor of the trunk with multiple compartments.
Cabin technology is being carried forward from the new sedan, and the i30 Tourer is available with a five-inch or eight-inch floating infotainment touch screen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Hyundai LIVE are available with the eight-inch display, while smaller five-inch models come standard with a backup camera and Bluetooth connectivity. Hyundai has introduced safety aids as an important part of the package too. Autonomous emergency braking, high-beam assistance, course-keeping assistance and the driver’s attention alert feature cut the vehicle.
The powertrain range of the Hyundai i30 Tourer consists of reduced turbocharged engines to improve efficiency and responsiveness (preliminary fuel consumption in l / 100 km for the Hyundai i30 Wagon range: 5.8 – 3.6 l / 100 km, CO2 emissions 135-95 g / km). Customers can choose between two gasoline engines and a 1.6-liter turbo diesel engine with 110PS. The Tourer is available with Hyundai’s all-new four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, the 1.4 T-GDI delivers up to 140 hp and the new 1.0 T-GDI three-cylinder delivers up to 120 hp. The Premium and Premium SE models come first, starting at £ 22,885 and £ 24,155 respectively.
