Mercedes was the first car manufacturer to cut all things. He turned the E-Class sedan into the CLS something they call a four-door coupe, confused as it may sound. But when it comes to SUVs, Mercedes was punched by BMW. And that may be a good thing, because for every BMW SUV sold as coupe, there are failures. Now, Mercedes-Benz is trying to claim some of this off-road turf with its own sloped roof SUV. Is the new GLE 2018 Coupé doing good and off-road better than the X6?
The GLE450 AMG 4Matic stands out from the less sporty GLE models with a subtle body kit, 20-inch alloy wheels (optional 21-inch wheels) and chrome tips. As with other AMG Sport models, the subtle look is almost a return to the AMG models of a few generations ago, which has more atmosphere than the current versions.
The interior features a flat-bottomed Nappa leather sport steering wheel and aluminum trim parts. There is also a bit of carbon fiber and black piano finish, and brushed stainless steel pedals. As it is still a Mercedes, there is also a Comand infotainment system and a BeoSound surround system from Bang & Olufsen. Mercedes also loads the GLE450 with driver assistance functions, such as assistance to collision avoidance In addition, Crosswind Assist, Distronic Plus and a smart LED lighting system.
Under the hood is a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6, which produces 362 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. He drives all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. The default torque distribution for the AWD system is 40/60 front / rear, which should make the 450 AMG 4Matic more alive than a standard GLE. Mercedes says the latest creation will make 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds, and will reach a top speed of 155 mph.
The price of all this will be revealed when the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 AMG 4Matic arrives in the United States. showrooms, probably next year.
