Volkswagen finally subscribes to the American belief that bigger is better and presents the largest vehicle it has ever built in America: the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. Capable of supporting seven passengers in relative comfort, and offering a huge amount of interior room, the Atlas is an inescapable choice in the segment SUV saturated cross family size. What is more surprising is that later this year, when the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is ready to be installed, Volkswagen will sell the Atlas with a starting price of about $ 31,500.
With a box shape and a cake style, the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas offers family-friendly passenger and cargo spaces with as little as a hint of a mobile mum picture. It’s not the fastest or most economical mid-sized crossover, but the larger Volkswagen wins its stars by offering a hard-to-beat feature, with a lightweight chassis, plush ride comfort and comfortable seats The Atlas can be equipped with the latest active security features, infotainment screens with clear graphics and even a reconfigurable digital gauge cluster. A long and transferable warranty and prices that reduce most of the most popular choices of the segment are all extra feathers in the Atlas carving.
For now, all versions of the new Atlas are equipped with a unique engine and transmission combo: a 3.6-liter, 276-hp V6, coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, with the VW 4Motion all-wheel drive system available with each trim. A 2.0-liter, 235-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine will be available later this year, but only with front-wheel drive.
