Volkswagen Golf is designed for you. Improving the GTI will allow you to attract attention, athletic style and enough power to satisfy most buyers. If you ask even more of your hot hatch, the Golf R is definitely the way to go. Volkswagen revealed the latest version of the Golf R at the New York International Auto Show in April, alongside the rest of the 2018 Volkswagen Golf.
The 2018 Volkswagen Golf range sees the addition of new LED rear lights on all models for 2018, but they do not stand out from last year’s lineup. Even the base is five-door, a compact Euro-style car, a pointed tip, a continental look. The real challenges in terms of human capability and gear transport are the SportWagen and Alltrack models. They are also spacious inside as a crossover but much more pleasant to drive. The Alltrack was a new model added last year that echoes Subaru Outback in a more compact package: a hint of off-road capability and a few more bushes.
The news of the great technology for 2018 is a pair of all new infotainment systems. The lower specification models are upgraded from a 5.0-inch screen to a 6.5-inch screen with Apple’s CarPlay and Android’s standard Auto. The advanced golf courses use an 8.0-inch screen with even more features. And the Golf R replaces its conventional gauges with a highly configurable LCD screen for 2018.
The 2018 Volkswagen Golf base engine is the 1.8-liter I-4 automaker that makes 170 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque. The turbo-four is a six-speed or six-speed dual-clutch automatic in the Golf SportWagen or Alltrack Golf. The front drive is standard on the tailgate and SportWagen, while all-wheel drive is optional on SportWagen and standard on Alltrack.
Each golf variant shares the same basic interior, albeit with different finishes and seating designs and furnishing accessories, while you work from the low range of $ 20,000 up to more $ 40,000.
