We bring good news! Volkswagen has confirmed a GTI version of the Up. Just five years after the launch of the Up, there is a fast on the way. Meet the 2018 Volkswagen Up GTI.
Some visual cross-references between the two models exist too traditional GTI paint colors such as “bright red” and “pure white” will be available, alongside metallic silver and black, plus a new blue “blue costa” tint. The biggest gift, however, is in the cabin! GTI will come with Tartine GTI tartan seat cover. A sport leather steering wheel and a GTI gear button are also found, while an infotainment, air conditioning and ambient lighting system will be standard. The front and back GTI badges are combined with the classic grid of the red grid, while the grid itself is a honeycomb pattern and finished in glossy black. The black stripes stem from the thresholds on the lower side and new 17-inch alloy wheels are wedged under the arches of the wheels.
Now, for the interior, the striking 2018 Volkswagen Up tartan tapestry will be used to cover the cabin of the Up! GTI. A multifunctional sports leather steering wheel and a GTI speed knob are two other features to be found inside. As standard, a touch screen infotainment system with 3.1-inch screen, air conditioning and ambient lighting will be included.
With 113bhp on the faucet at 5000 rpm from a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder direct injection gasoline engine, GTI’s top peak power is a significant 30 bhp power on the four-cylinder gasoline engine of 1.4-liter turbocharged Abarth 500, but the very same output as the 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine used similarly by Adam S.
On display at the Wörthersee event of VW in Austria it is slated for sale in the UK in early 2018 at an expected starting price of around £ 14,000.
