The 2020 Jeep Wrangler plug-in hybrid project is not developed from scratch. It will use some of the components of the Pacifica Hybrid’s basic hybrid system, including the eFlite transaxle with planetary gears and a one-way clutch, which are revised according to Wrangler’s very different layout and objectives.
Jeep officials did not say which gasoline engine would be mated to the transaxle first. The core engine of the new generation 2020 Jeep Wrangler is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 280 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The proven and correct Pentastar V-6 3.6 is an option. It has less power but more torque at 295 pound-feet. Variation V-6 is installed in Pacifica Hybrid, readjusted for maximum efficiency at constant engine speed. Jeep also plans to soon offer 3.0 V-6 diesel engines to Wrangler.
The hybrid plug-in will join the powertrain range now for the new 2020 Jeep Wrangler. Jeep will offer a lightweight hybrid next year with a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine. Called eTorque, hybrids add regeneration, stop-start and electrical assistance. The system produces 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. In 2019, Wrangler will get a 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine with 260 hp and 442 lb-ft. The Pentastar V6 tested and true with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft also continues.
We do not know much about the hybrid, but plug-in, we assume it will be influenced by the Pacifica powertrain, which is nice to drive at a speed of 33 miles on a full charge of the lithium battery -ion is 16 kilowatt-hours. Sir The battery is paired with a 3.6-liter V6 and generates 32 miles per gallon at Pacifica as we have for testing.
Can be blocked plug-in Wrangler’s battery between the chassis side members, which can change the operation of the Jeep four-wheel drive system.
